Our first AGM - Thursday 13th May at 7.30pm in Sawmills Village Hall

We will have the latest news about the Stevenson's site.
We will keep the business part of the meeting as short as possible to allow plenty of time for people to socialise with tea or coffee - and to talk about the latest pictures and maps people have brought in.
Meeting of the Civic Society on
Thursday 25th February 2010 at 7.30 at Sawmills Village Hall
We will be updating you on the work that has been done over the last couple of months and asking you for your views on how the society is to proceed. We hope that the meeting will have a more sociable feel, with less talking and more to look at, with tea and coffee available.
We are still collecting histories and photographs, so please bring any along that we could copy and share with members. For example, does anyone have any pictures, drawings or stories of the mill (sometimes called the paint factory) at Sawmills?
What about the old cottage that stood in the field next to the footpath at Sawmills?
Did you frequent the Fish and Chip Shop? or buy sweets from the sweet seller's?
Did you work at Stevenson's? Do you have any photos of working at Stevenson's?
Do you have photos or recollections of the stone cottages at Bullbridge? - or of life around the canal there?
If you have an elderly neighbour or relative that has stories to tell? We would love to hear them.
